Foo Fighters are officially back with their frenetic new single, ‘Asking for a Friend,’ and the announcement of a massive 2026 North American Stadium tour. The new track takes a decidedly darker, more intense melodic path than their previous smash hit, ‘Today’s Song.’ It opens with hypnotic verses that steadily build, culminating in impassioned, explosive refrains asking: “What is real? I’m asking for a friend…” The song eventually screeches to a halt with a throat-shredding final line: “Or is this the end?”

Accompanying the single, the band confirmed their first stadium run since their monumental 2023-2024 tour. Kicking off on August 4th at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, the new leg will bring the band’s maximum volume euphoria to 12 North American cities, concluding on September 26th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Queens of the Stone Age are slated as the direct support for nearly all dates.

Frontman Dave Grohl shared an extensive statement detailing the inspiration behind the new music and the upcoming tour, reflecting on the band’s resurgence:

“Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing… to reconnecting with our amazing fans and blasting them with everything we’ve got (no matter the size of the venue) because we would not be here without them, we have the most solid core. And the sun is finally rising over the horizon.”

Grohl also spoke about the meaningful collaboration with Queens of the Stone Age, calling their joint history a “lifelong bond that goes far beyond the sound we’ve made together.” He described ‘Asking for a Friend’ as “a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear. Searching for ‘proof’ when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again,” promising that it is “One of many songs to come…”

More dates and announcements are expected soon; fans are prompted to sign up for the band’s mailing list for further announcements.
