GRAMMY-nominated British producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter Elderbrook has announced his fourth studio album, Heart on a Wire, scheduled for release on January 22, 2027 via Counter Records (Ninja Tune). The announcement coincides with the arrival of the lead single, “Lost in the View.”
The ten-track project—four years in the making—marks a shift toward a more alternative, song-driven aesthetic. Featuring guest appearances from UK producers Tourist and Rules, the album places Alexander Kotz’s vocals and narrative songwriting at the centre of the arrangements while maintaining his trademark atmospheric electronic production.
Reflecting on the intuitive creative process behind the record, Elderbrook shared:
“Making Heart on a Wire felt like reconnecting with the instincts that first drew me to music. I wanted to approach the album more from an indie music point of view, following ideas wherever they led and letting the songs take shape naturally. That process helped me make a record that feels genuinely true to who I am as a musician.
Written during his relocation from the UK to Los Angeles, “Lost in the View” channels themes of personal renewal and transitional identity. Conceptually, Heart on a Wire takes inspiration from an encounter at a Miami art festival in late 2022, exploring themes of youthful openness and vulnerability, complemented by visual creative direction from Charlie Drinkwater (Porter Robinson, Fontaines D.C., Dermot Kennedy).
The release follows a viral surge for his 2021 Bob Moses collaboration “Inner Light,” which recently topped Shazam’s US Top 200 after being featured in the trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.
