CMAT has released “Euro-Country,” the title track from her eagerly awaited new album, which is due out August 29th via AWAL Recordings.
This new single arrives on the heels of her “career-making set” on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, a performance that garnered unanimous five-star reviews. Adding to her momentum, CMAT has also been confirmed as one of BBC Radio 6 Music’s upcoming Artists in Residence.
Of the concept of EURO-COUNTRY, CMAT describes,
I have certain phrases that reverberate around my head over and over again – and EURO-COUNTRY was one of them. It’s the title of the album, and the name of the first song on the record. And it means three things to me: It’s the kind of country music I make; the fact that Ireland is a European country run by the euro; and that capitalism is one of the worst things to ever happen to us.
EURO-COUNTRY marks CMAT’s third album, following her highly praised 2023 release, Crazymad, For Me. That album significantly boosted her profile, earning a BRITs Best International Artist nomination and “Best Album” nods from the Ivors, Mercury Prize, and Ireland’s Choice Music Prize, which she previously won for her debut, If My Wife New I’d Be Dead.
CMAT’s reputation as a formidable live act has been solidified by a relentless touring schedule with The Very Sexy CMAT Band. Beyond her “career-making set” at Glastonbury, early 2025 saw highlights including performances at Primavera and NOS Alive in Lisbon, as well as a UK support run with Sam Fender. Her upcoming UK and Ireland headline tour, which includes her inaugural arena show in Dublin, is now completely sold out.
