Irish singer-songwriter CMAT has revealed details of her highly anticipated new album, “EURO-COUNTRY,” slated for release on August 29th. Described by the artist as her “most important record” to date, the announcement comes alongside the release of the new single, “Running/Planning,” which premiered as a Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 last night. The news is further bolstered by the unveiling of an extensive tour schedule, featuring a coveted slot at Glastonbury Festival and culminating in her largest headline shows to date. Fans can expect to see CMAT take the stage at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and Dublin’s 3Arena.
Regarding “Running/Planning,” CMAT stated:
Though “EURO-COUNTRY” marks her third album, CMAT’s presence feels deeply ingrained in the cultural landscape. Known for her sharp wit and genre-bending sound, follows up the critically acclaimed “Crazymad, For Me,” which earned her a BRITs Best International Artist nomination and nods for Best Album at the Ivors, Mercury Prize, and Ireland’s Choice Music Prize (where she previously won for her debut, “If My Wife New I’d Be Dead”).
To coincide with the album release, CMAT has announced a 13-date UK and Ireland tour. The tour kicks off at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and culminates in a headline show at Dublin’s 12,000-capacity 3Arena. General ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 4th, with pre-sale access available for fans who pre-order the album before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1st.
