London’s rising pop agitator, Babymorocco, has just released the video for his new track, “The Boys & The Girls.” This song is featured on the deluxe version of his debut album, Amour: The Jean Paul Deluxe, which is available now via New York label True Panther Records. The self-directed visual for “The Boys & The Girls” draws inspiration from the Garden of Eden, depicting Babymorocco caught in a “steamy love triangle.” He shared that the song “came together quickly” after Velvette Blue sent over a “pure genius electro” beat, and the “lyrics just followed naturally.”
Babymorocco explained,
“My life has always been led by my sexuality and also the concept of original sin. I wanted to play around with this idea of religious iconography within a pop song, there’s no specific sexuality mentioned as the song is about the confusion of where you go or who youll end up being with. I directed and edited the video myself. The concept started as a loose retelling of Adam and Eve, but it grew into something more symbolic. I wanted to play with the idea of temptation not in a moral sense, but in terms of power, curiosity, and intimacy. In the video, I’m kind of both the snake and the question itself. It asks: who has the power here? Who gives in first the boy or the girl? Or does it even matter at all.”
Alongside the video release, Babymorocco has announced “The Jean Paul Tour 2025,” spanning the UK, Europe, and the US later this year. Running from October to December, the tour includes headline shows at London’s Village Underground, El Cid in Los Angeles, and New York City’s Elsewhere Zone One, among other venues.
