AFI has announced their twelfth album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, set for release on October 3rd via Run For Cover Records. The new record ushers in a bold new era for the iconic band. The announcement arrives alongside the album’s lead single, “Behind the Clock,” and an accompanying music video directed by Gilbert Trejo.

We wanted the video to feel like you’re seeing something you shouldn’t. In effect you are, because that’s how Davey writes lyrics. He’s expressing himself so openly, that you’re let behind this curtain. It’s a world that most artists don’t cut to, marrow deep.
For over three decades, AFI has been defined by a constant state of reinvention, consistently evolving their sound and challenging both themselves and their audience. With their twelfth album, Silver Bleeds the Black Sun…, the band embarks on a new chapter, this time surprising even themselves with a singular, ethereal mood. The record draws on deep-rooted influences, reinterpreting classic sounds through a modern lens to create something dark, otherworldly, and entirely unique.
This fall, AFI will celebrate the album’s release with a headline North American tour. The 24-date run kicks off on September 30 in Madison, WI, and will see the band perform across the US before wrapping up on November 5 in San Diego. The tour will offer fans the chance to experience songs from their extensive catalogue, alongside new tracks, all delivered with the band’s signature electrifying performance.
