Man/Woman/Chainsaw have announced their signing to Fiction Records, a label synonymous with influential artists like The Cure, St. Vincent, The Horrors and Billie Marten, and are celebrating the milestone with the release of their latest single, “Only Girl.” Bright, bold and instantly engaging, the track has already emerged as a standout moment in their recent live sets. Recorded at RAK Studios with producer Seth Evans alongside Margo Broom, “Only Girl” follows the band’s BBC 6 Music-playlisted single “Adam & Steve” and signals yet another confident step in their fast-growing catalogue.
Lead vocalist Vera describes the new release as:
“Only Girl is our playful love song. Built around a ripping violin top-line and birthed from a grungy guitar jam, it gradually became something more boisterous and altogether more joyful – a total declaration of love. We had a lot of fun making it.”
The single lands after a packed year of milestones, including a sold-out London Scala show, two full UK tours that both sold out, live sessions for KEXP and BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, and a buzzy first appearance at SXSW that placed them firmly among the UK’s most tipped rising acts. The band will return to the stage for a free London show at Omeara in December, with additional headline dates in Hebden Bridge, Edinburgh and Liverpool set to go on sale this Friday, 21 November at 10am.
