Dry Cleaning have unveiled “Cruise Ship Designer,” the second single from their forthcoming album Secret Love, set for release on 9 January 2026. Following the energetic lead single “Hit My Head All Day,” the new track arrives with a playful video starring bassist Lewis Maynard, who performs a dance routine choreographed by BULLYACHE. Musically, “Cruise Ship Designer” captures the band’s signature offbeat precision, a wry, melodic exploration that channels the irony of everyday ambition, with shades of XTC’s “Making Plans for Nigel.”
Vocalist and lyricist Florence Shaw explained the song’s concept:
“The song is about a cruise ship and hotel designer who’s skilled and paid well, but who doesn’t believe his role has real worth. He tries to enjoy it, and invests himself in meeting the challenges of the job.”
Alongside the single, the band have announced a run of UK outstore performances for January 2026, with ticket bundles available via their website starting 10 a.m. GMT today (Wednesday, 12 November). These intimate shows will lead into an extensive North American, European, and UK tour, including Dry Cleaning’s biggest headline dates yet at LA’s Wiltern and London’s O2 Academy Brixton, with YHWH Nailgun joining as support for the North American leg.
