Hull-based cinematic indie-folk outfit Pavey Ark have announced their second full-length album, More Time, More Speed, is set for release on November 21st, 2025. The announcement coincides with the release of the album’s new single, “Yesterday Is Done,” which serves as an immersive introduction to the band’s sound. The track is built around singer Neil Thomas’s atmospheric vocals and acoustic guitar, augmented by live strings, horns, and intricate percussion, creating a sound that is both timeless and contemporary.
Of the single, the band’s Neil Thomas describes,
Yesterday is Done’ is a song about letting go of the past and looking for new beginnings, so it feels just right releasing this song as we announce the new album. ‘Yesterday is Done’ is a song that pulses with positivity, and it definitely feels like an exciting new chapter for the band.
The single opens with a subtle string arrangement before gradually building into a layered and expansive sound. Its lyrics begin with a simple apology that evolves into a deeper reflection on letting go of the past and embracing new beginnings. The official video for “Yesterday Is Done” adds a visual layer to the song’s themes, as it was filmed against the backdrop of artist Annabel McCourt’s touring installation, I’m Sorry, creating a striking and resonant piece of work.
