Just Mustard – WE WERE JUST HERE

With its throbbing synths, Just Mustard explores a captivating dreamscape in “WE WERE JUST HERE,” blending minimalist noise rock with goth-like elements. The track is anchored by a powerful low-end that creates an immersive soundscape, while Ball’s ethereal vocals contrast beautifully with the shimmering synths that pierce through the noise. This compelling juxtaposition showcases the band’s ability to weave tension and emotion into their music, resulting in a mesmerising evolution of their signature style. – Katie Macbeth

Sorry – Echoes

“Echoes” stands among Sorry’s most compelling work to date, a brooding blend of repetition and longing. Asha Lorenz’s unmistakable voice is on top form, showcasing layers of pitch, tone, and breath throughout. The line “Echo I love you” mutates subtly with each recurrence, building intensity as the song unfolds. A standout guitar solo in the bridge briefly seizes the spotlight, raw and distorted, in keeping with the track’s gritty vibe. It’s another showcase of the band’s evolving sound, and a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come on their upcoming album COSPLAY, due this November. – Henry Dunn

The Wytches – Black Ice

Renowned for their unique take on punk meets surf rock, the Brighton-formed quartet The Wytches have returned with their latest slice of rock: ‘Black Ice’. Taken from their imminent fifth full-length release, ‘Talking Machine’, ‘Black Ice’ boasts soaring vocals and delightfully layered instrumentation. The 60’s revival soundscape was crafted with the aim to act as a homage to The Kinks’s heavier-than-usual ”Till The End Of They Day’. The Wytches’ ‘Talking Machine is set to be a no-skips record. – Lana Williams

Shame – Spartak

Steen and co. continue their outrageous album rollout with the latest offering from Cutthroat, ‘Spartak’. The London genrebenders give their signature sound a country and Americana twist in a spectacularly leftfield way that only Shame could. Short, sweet and raw – yet a real banger – ‘Spartak’ pokes fun at social cliques as frontman Charlie Steen sings – “At the party you were talking academic matters/Don’t you know none of that shit really matters?” before reminding them, chanting, “You’re no better than me”, repeatedly. Taking down the cool kids in style with a fresh-sounding, singalong tune yet sealed with the same signature shame stamp. They’re only getting better! – Tyler Wright

GANS – Nightwalking

Hailing from Birmingham, GANS are teasing their debut record (‘Good For The Soul’) due out next month with the release of its latest single ‘Nightwalking’. Boasting infectious post-punk energy, this new arrival marks a stark and heated return for GANS. Featuring a swirling soundscape and a narrative that “addresses that space between love, desire and lust”, ‘Nightwalking’ is an impressive, genre-bending offering from the duo. – Lana Williams
