TV Priest have shared their latest single, Press Gang, taken from their debut album Uppers which is due to be released on the 5th February. The track got its first play from Lauren Laverne on BBC 6Music yesterday morning. Listen below.

Press Gang takes inspiration from lead singer, Charlie Drinkwater’s, grandfathers work as a photojournalist and war correspondent on Fleet Street, between the 1950’s and the early 1980’s. Press Gang is a commentary on the distribution of ideas and information, and how the narrative of the ‘death of the print media’ has been instrumental in a post-truth world.

Towards the end of 2020, TV Priest announced that they had signed to Sub Pop – after playing only one show as a band. The band have been championed by the likes of BBC 6Music and have received international support from the likes of SIRIUS XMU, KEXP and The Current in the states.

The band have rescheduled their London headliner to 10th April, a socially distanced event which will be the band’s second show to date. The show was already sold out, with TV Priest now announcing a second, 6pm show. Tickets and details here.

Uppers is now available to preorder available physically on both CD and vinyl, including a limited edition run of 300 copies exclusively through RecordStore.
