Cheetah Tongue is the latest single from The Wombat’s forthcoming new  album Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life. The single follows on from previous singles Lemon To A Knife Fight, their first new music in 2 years, and Turn.  The album will released on Kobalt Music on February 9th 2018. Stream Cheetah Tongue below.

Frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy comments on the new song:

Cheetah Tongue is a song about dealing with the pressures of adulthood and failing miserably. The opening song on the album and probably the most psychedelic..

Written in three completely different locations around the world – with drummer Dan Haggis in London, bassist Tord Øverland Knudsen with his family in Oslo and frontman Murph in Los Angeles – Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life was created in long distance and intensive, two-week sessions in Oslo and produced by Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man) and Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice).

While previous album Glitterbug dealt with Murph’s long-distance relationship, the singer finds himself newly married and resident in LA for Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life. The record explores a maturer side of the Liverpool-based trio. Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life is available to pre-order as of now.

2017 saw the Liverpool trio headline Brixton Academy (which sold-out in under 24 hours), as well as two sold-out nights at the Sydney Opera House. The Wombats have also announced a run of tour dates across the UK, with most dates already sold out, Europe and the US where they will join Weezer in June and July. All dates can be found below.
