The Velvet Hands are back with more of their body-shaking punk sound in their new single This Feeling via Jam X Recordings. The track loudly demonstrates the relationships that are split and dried up by attention-sucking social media. It’s that moment you release you’re only dating part of a person, and the internet has everything else. The sound is chaotic, and so are modern relationships. Listen below.
The band comments on This Feeling:
This Feeling is a lo-fi love song about how frail relationships can be in the modern age. Social media can both spark and smother romance very quickly and it seems modern couples have no escape from each other.
The sound breaks in the middle of the song, with a bridge that softly states “I’ll be ok”, a moment to take a breath and recover yourself, and take back your life. This Feeling is an uncontrollable, totally shout-able ode to any relationship in the digital edge.
Having supported Liam Gallagher and Fontaines DC at Cornwall’s Eden Sessions, The Velvet Hands will embark on a UK headline tour in October. All dates and ticket links can be found below.
This Feeling is out now via all digital platforms.
