The Japanese House, moniker of singer and producer Amber Bain, has just announced her long awaited debut album Good At Falling will be released on March 1st 2019 via Dirty Hit. The album artwork and tracklisting can be found below. Coinciding with the album announcement, Amber has also shared her new single Follow My Girl. Listen here.

These songs are definitely more direct. The album has a lot more of me in it, so it makes sense.

The album follows on from critically acclaimed EPs Pools To Bathe In (2015), Clean (2015), Swim Against The Tide (2016) and 2017’s Saw You In A Dream. Good At Falling was produced by Bain herself, BJ Burton (Low, Bon Iver) and George Daniel of label mates The 1975. Before going into the studios in Wisconsin, Brussels and Oxford, Amber recorded demos for each song in her London home.

The new album contains recent singles Lilo and I Saw You In A Dream as well as 11 new tracks. One of them is titled Marika Is Sleeping which is a reference to fellow musician Marika Hackman, who is also Bain’s partner.

Good At Falling is available to pre-order now on digital and physical formats. To celebrate the album’s release, The Japanese House will tour Europe in spring 2019. All dates and tickets can be found below.
