Manchester rockers The Blinders return with their new single, City We Call Love, their first release since their critically acclaimed 2020 album, Fantasies Of A Stay At Home Psychopath. Listen below.

The band’s first release since becoming a 5-piece, City We Call Love, sees the group return on top of their game, exploring an expanded range of instrumentation and showing a high level of expertise, the track marks a new dawn for the band.

Speaking on the release of the single and bringing new members to the band, vocalist and lead guitarist Thomas Haywood states:

Love is an enormous feeling, and something I now know I’d never felt up until this point. The music tries to match the weight of that whilst holding its hand with the lyrics. I think both love and a city share the same intricacies and feelings of vastness when you’re in the centre of them, so I guess that’s why I chose to go with that. The band’s got a little more meat on its bones too. There are five of us now instead of three. It’s probably the best decision we’ve ever made.

The Blinders have recently finished up playing a string of headline shows across the UK, including performances at Manchester’s Albert Hall and London’s Electric Ballroom, using the shows as an opportunity to debut the new lineup. Thomas Haywood and bassist Charlie McGough are now joined by second guitarist Eoghan Clifford, drummer Thomas Castrey and keyboardist Johnny James.
