Bristol four piece Swimming Girls have recently dropped their new summerly single Asking For It. The new song is their fourth outing and follows on from previous single Back Of Your Car. Listen to Asking For It here.

Despite its upbeat melody, the track has a slightly darker undertone as frontwoman Vanessa explains:

‘Asking for it’ is a blunt break up song. Written at the bitter end of a relationship, it explores the distinct lack of sympathy you feel after being hurt over and over again.

Formed whilst they were all studying separately in Bath, the band bonded over a common love for the likes of The Cure, Cyndi Lauper, Culture Club alongside cult films like ‘Heathers’ and the work of David Lynch.

2018 has already seen Swimming Girls supporting Manchester buzz band Pale Waves as well as Brighton quintet Fickle Friends. In May, the band also appeared at the Great Escape festival in Brighton.

Asking For It is available digitally as of now via Yucatan Records.
