Tyneside singer-songwriter Sam Fender today reveals his new single Leave Fast, a song is about the claustrophobia of living in a small town and the need for escape. It comes a video, shot on 16mm film, following Sam on a stroll through his hometown. Watch and listen below.

Sam comments on the new track:

Leave Fast is an archetypal song about growing up in a small town, and the frustrations that are often felt by those who feel trapped within them. Yet it’s very much a song about living in the UK right now, too.

Leave Fast follows on from recent single Friday Fighting and his breakthrough single Play God. Like all of his releases thus far, this new outing showcases Fenders social awareness and political thinking. The new track was recorded at Sam’s self-built recording studios within a warehouse space in North Shields and overseen by local producer Bramwell Bronte.

Sam will appear at numerous festivals throughout the UK and Europe this summer including Kendal Calling and Reading / Leeds. All dates and ticket links can be found below.
