Sam Fender has just dropped a surprise new track titled Hold Out. The new song comes with a video directed by Jack Whitefield who has also directed the video for previous single All Is On My Side. Watch and listen below.

Fender has also hinted that Hold Out will be the last track from the chart-topping debut album Hypersonic Missiles era. It is therefore likely, that it will be a while before he puts out any new music.

He adds:

We nearly released ‘Hold Out’ as a single a while back. It used to be a staple in our live set when the band first got together, and I’ve always been really fond of it. It’s about going out on the lash back home which was really just a form of escape. This is going to be the last tune we put out there of the ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ era. I hope you like it as much as I do.

Recently, on February 9th, Fender was invited to perform at Sir Elton John’s annual Academy Award Party, a fundraiser event for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. At the event, Fender performed Will We Talk with Sir Elton joining him on vocals. A short clip of the event can be found below.

On February 13th, Fender has also recorded a cover of Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black in the BBC1 live lounge. Watch the video here.

The new single arrives just in time for a duo of Newcastle shows (February 17th and 19th) as well as a sold out UK headline tour kicking off in March. The singer has also been confirmed for Neighbourhood, This Is Tomorrow, Isle of Wight Festival, TRNSMT and Reading & Leeds festivals. All dates can be found below.
