It’s October 21st, 2015, the date Marty McFly travelled to in the second installment of the Back To The Future Franchise. He would be surprised by the lack of Hoverboards and flying cars but even more by the fact that apparently music hasn’t changed all that much.
WYLDR are a Los Angeles-based trio who may not even have been born in the 80s but embrace that decade’s sound vigorously. The have just released Savage, a pop anthem with vast synths and brooding vocals. Savage is the follow-up to their debut single Captive, a pop rock tune with guitar riffs reminiscent of The 1975 that grabs you by the ears.
WYLDR formed earlier this year when frontman Will Winters, who had foregone a solo career, teamed up with friends Taylor Van Ginkel (guitar) and multi-instrumentalist Michael Matta.
Their debut EP, Gypsy Queen, was produced and recorded by longtime friend and seasoned producer, Mitchell Lee Krebs, and will be released on December 1st. Savage and Captive will be featured on the Gypsy Queen EP as well as two new tracks. Tour dates and a details of an album will be announced in shortly.
