Fresh from their recent European and UK tour, Sydney rockers Planet have just dropped their brand new single Reason Why, their second release on Aussie label Dew Process (Bloc Party, Sam Fender). Listen to Reason Why below.

The track was just premiered on Australian tastemaker radio tripple j on ‘Good Nights with Bridget Hustwaite’ and follows on from recent single Never New. Frontman and main songwriter Matty Took comments on the single:

I wrote ‘Reason Why’ about five years ago. Lyrically it’s all about uncertainty, imbalance, mental confusion and being uninspired. Melodically, it is dreamy and flowing, which counteracts with the duelling riff that smacks you in the face.

On the back of this summer’s single Never New, the band has played a string of nearly sold out UK and European shows. At the end of the months, they will be joining fellow Aussie rockers Gyroscope for a run of local dates. New headline dates will be announced shortly. All dates and ticket links can be found below.

Planet consist of frontman Matty Took (whose older brother Johnny Took is in DMA’s), guitarist Tom Peppitt, bassist Jimmy Weaver and drummer Harry Stewart-Weeks. Today, the band stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow Australian breakout-acts such as Alvvays, Middle Kids, Hatchie or Angie McMahon.

Reason Why is out now via all digital outlets.
