Park Ridge – Ur So Good (Single Review)

park ridge band photoPark Ridge’s new singe UR So Good doesn’t just share a similarly styled song name with Arctic Monkeys R U Mine, it also shares a leather jacket riff, falsetto backing vocals, and the potential to become a classic.

The main riff is bouncy, slick, and exciting. It draws comparison to some of Franz Ferdinands tracks; that catchiness, and deep, dominating bassy sound with a dancy feel.

“If I walk out that door it’ll be the last time I swear” the singer declares to kick off the chorus. The vocals throughout are confident but effortless. The singer sounds cool, someone you could see hanging out with the rockstars in a few years but still sounds relatable enough that you think he’d be a nice guy to go for a pint with.

Sections of the song take a more stripped approach with a single guitar strumming away, claps, and a simple vocal, which gets your imagination going. You can see it as a big festival anthem. Scenes of pints spilling as people sing and dance along, a loud active crowd in the sun. Hopefully, we see Park Ridge dominating festival bills for 2021.
