Having recently announced their new album Dead Club City for release on July 7th, Nothing But Thieves drop their brand new single Overcome. Premiered as Clara Amfo’s Hottest Record in the World on Radio 1, Overcome is a massive pop rock track laden with 80s nostalgia. The accompanying videodirected by Teeeezy C (Central Cee, Unknown T) offers another glimpse into Dead Club City, the fictional city depicted in their conceptual new album.

The band comment on the new track:

Overcome has always felt like a ‘throw your stuff in a bag and get away’ song. Dead Club City (the city) would definitely feel enticing for someone like that. We’re all battling something, so having a song on the album that would describe why someone would want change felt right.

Welcome To The DCC available now

Following the release of their #3 album Moral Panic and the Moral Panic II EP, Southend four piece Nothing But Thieves have returned earlier this year withWelcome to the DCC. Coinciding with the new song, the four piece announced their new album Dead Club City will be released on July 7th.

Welcome to the DCC takes Nothing But Thieves to the dancefloor. The new track is easily their most pop and 80s influenced release to date and yet unmistakably their own. DCC is the eponymous Dead Club City, the album’s namesake. The album’s tracklist (which is yet to be revealed) consists of different characters and stories from Dead Club City, making it their most conceptual album to date and a new era for the band who add:

Welcome to the DCC, Dead Club City. All the heaven, all the time.

The meaning behind these tracks are common real life topics such as advertisement, unity, internet culture, the music industry, ageing and politics, as well as the alienation or privilege of a members only club.

Nothing But Thieves will play several festivals across Europe this summer as well as Reading / Leeds. The band have also announced UK and Ireland tour dates for autumn this year. Tickets are available here*.
