Newmoon are a shoegazing quintet from Belgium who will release their debut album Space on October 14th via PIAS. Helium marks the opening track and is also the second single to be lifted from the album and can be streamed below.

Having played in hardcore punk band Midnight Souls before, Newmoon formed in late 2013 and released their debut EP on Touché Amoré’s label Secret Voice/Deathwish Inc. Their name is taken from an Elliot Smith album.

Frontman Bert Cannaerts reveals Helium’s beautiful soundscapes were some of the most difficult to construct.

Helium is all about being trapped in a spiral of negativity and being unable to escape it… Writing so openly was something that took me a while to get used to.

The band have toured Europe extensively alongside Touché Amoré, Basement, Nothing and Cloakroom. Newmoon have also announced European tour dates which will include a UK headline show at London’s The Garage on December 8th. Tour dates are below.
