Melanie Pierce – Illusions

Illusions is the sophomore release by US artist Melanie Pierce. Written in her apartment in the summer 2019, she comments on the track:

“Illusions” is really a testimony of growth, healing, and understanding through hard truths and very undesirable circumstances. It can really make you feel crazy when what you’ve wanted so badly, and have convinced yourself is so meant for you, is falling apart around you. I really love the line “Painted words on paper thin walls”. For me, this line really represents I was trying so hard to make something beautiful, and worthwhile, but truly, the foundation was never there to begin with. When I wrote that, I really felt something click and actually felt more at peace with the whole thing.
