Australion trio Middle Kids have just announced their new EP New Songs For Old Problems will be released on May 24th via Domino Records (Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets, Franz Ferdinand). The band have also shared their brand new single Real Thing, their first new music of 2019, which comes with a video directed by Marie Pangaud. Watch and listen below.

Real Thing follows on from recent single Salt Eyes, which will also be featured on the new EP next to 4 new tracks. New Songs For Old Problems was recorded with Tim Fitz in the band’s Sydney studio. The EP follows on from the critically acclaimed debut album Lost Friends, which received an Album of the Year award from Aussie taste maker radio Triple J.

Vocalist Hanna Joy comments on Real Thing:

[It’s about the] lifelong quest for meaning. It’s the quiet, persistent voice in the stillness that constantly checks to see if you truly think you’ve found the thing you’re looking for.

Having recently supported Bloc Party on their Silent Alarm anniversary tour across Europe and the UK, Middle Kids will be joining Local Natives for an extensive North American tour starting in May. All dates and ticket links can be found below.

The New Songs For Old Problems EP is available to pre-order via all digital outlets.
