Australian trio Middle Kids have just announced that their anticipated debut album Lost Friends will be released on May 4th via Domino Records (Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets, Franz Ferdinand). The artwork and tracklisting can be found below.

Lost Friends follows on from the self-titled debut EP which was released in 2017 to critical acclaim and featured hit singles Edge Of Town and Your Love. Coinciding with the album announcement, Middle Kids share new track Mistakes, alongside the accompanying video. Listen/watch below.

Middle Kids – Mistakes

Vocalist Hannah Joy comments on the album:

In a time where a lot of division is growing, we want to be part of the conversation that unites people around certain ideals that are universal, like hope and love. That’s so much a thread throughout this album: Even though things are tough, it’s worth believing in something good and in the idea that we can heal. And in some ways, I wanted the music to be beautiful and a respite from what’s going on.

The three-piece, led by vocalist / guitarist Hannah Joy, and producer / multi-instrumentalist Tim Fitz, with Harry Day on drums, first came to public attention with the release of their debut single Edge Of Town in 2016. Sir Elton John declared himself a fan of the song, added it to his Apple Music playlist and aired it on his Beats 1 radio show.

Having appeared at SXSW and supported the likes of Cold War Kids, Ryan Adams and The War On Drugs, Middle Kids will play a run of headline shows across Australia and the US, as well as a show in London, this spring. All dates can be found below.
