Lusts return with new single ‘Heavy Thoughts’

Lusts press shot 2018

Lusts are a duo consisting of brothers Andrew and James Stone who have just announced their return with new single Heavy Thoughts. Recorded in their home studio, the track is their first new music since the release of their debut album Illuminations. Listen below.

With lyrics partly inspired by J.G Ballard’s ‘High Rise’ and visuals of Andrei Tarkovsky’s ‘Stalker’, Andrew comments on Heavy Thoughts:

We always want to juxtapose ideas and themes — looking for a utopia in the darkness. We wanted to create a song that simultaneously revelled in destructiveness, whilst also critiquing it. The book really shocked me growing up, and continues to do so. This track is about pushing us to explore parts of ourselves and the people around us.

In 2015, Lusts arrived with the instantly infectious single Temptation, winning Steve Lamacq’s Rebel Playlist and followed by acclamatory features for debut album Illuminations.

After previous full UK and EU tours, as well as performances at the likes of SXSW, The Great Escape and more, Lusts have also announced a new run of live dates. All dates and tickets can be found below.

Heavy Thoughts is available as of now via all digital retailers.
