This week sees Lucia & the Best Boys return with their new release, Perfectly Untrue, taken from their upcoming EP, The State Of Things, which is available October 9th. Perfectly Untrue follows on from their much loved EP Eternity, which was released earlier this year.

Perfectly Untrue sees Lucia & The Best Boys return with an alt-pop direction that fans are going to adore, frontwoman Lucia Fairfull offers more intense and passionate vocals, whilst exploring more atmospheric sounds, seeing them move away from the gritty sounds of their earlier pieces. The tracks ‘happy go lucky’ feel portrays the fake joy that people push themselves to feel, in order to avoid the truth.

Speaking about the track, Lucia states:

’Perfectly Untrue’ was written a couple of weeks after ‘Let Go’, during a time of heartbreak, feeling strong and capable one minute, then confused and distraught the next. The only way through seemed to be to pretend that everything was fine or perfect whereas in reality it was ‘Perfectly Untrue.’

The bands previous EP release, Eternity, saw Lucia dive into 80’s inspirations such as Madonna, Stevie Nicks and New Order, and combining them with their fierce, 90’s grunge twang. The EP lead to Lucia & the Best Boys receiving multiple plays on BBC Radio 1, and features upon multiple Spotify curated playlists, such as New Music Friday, the Rock List and Hot New Bands.

‘The State Of Things’, is set to be released on October 9th, and will feature an extra two brand new tracks. Lucia & the Best Boys have been announced as the lead support for Dream Wife on their 22 date UK & Europe tour in April – May 2021. Tickets are available here.
