Glaswegian rockers Lucia & The Best Boys (formerly known as Lucia) today return with their brand new single Good Girls Do Bad Things, out now via Sweet Jane Recordings. The new track was recorded in LA and produced by Carlos De La Garza (Paramore, Wolf Alice, Best Coast). The accompanying video by Alexander Stuart sees frontwoman Lucia Fairfull ride a horse around the Barrowlands area of Glasgow. Watch and Listen below.

The song is all out stadium sized 80s goodness with a message that sticks. Speaking of the inspiration for the new track, Lucia comments:

Good girls do bad things is a song written for any women who feels like they have ever been undermined, or made to feel worthless and weak by a man. I find myself in these situations far too often, now more than ever, and it is important to highlight that they are the weak ones in the situation.

Good Girls Do Bad Things marks the quartet’s first release under their new moniker. The name change harkens back to their 2017 debut EP Best Boys and coincides with a line up change. The group consisting of singer Lucia Fairfull, drummer Alasdair Scott and bass player Chris Frew Ballantyne is now completed by guitarist Conor Goldie.

The new stuff we’re doing isn’t putting everything we’ve done before to an end, it’s creating a new beginning point.

Good Girls Do Bad Things is also the first taster for the band’s new EP, set for release next year. The follow up to this year’s Cheap Talk sees the quartet dive deeper into their 80s inspiration, such as of Madonna, Stevie Nicks, New Order and The Human League.

Good Girls Do Bad Things is available via all digital retailers.
