Rising London trio Koates today drop their second single The Right Place which was produced Gary Go who has previously worked with the likes of Rihanna, Robbie Williams, and Take That. Listen to The Right Place below.
The band comment on The Right Place:
The Right Place’ is based on a relationship turning toxic. One day you can experience total happiness and euphoria, the next you hit rock bottom. That constant Ping-Pong effect: fight, make up sex, fight, make up sex, is what inspired the song. Just hoping that the toxicity would disappear and you could be in good place.
The new single follows on from their debut track Escalators which was released in May and gained them a slot at The Great Escape as Best Newcomer.
Koates consist of James Coates (Vocals/Guitar), Jojo Macari (Bass/Backing Vocals) and Joe Perkins (Drums) who have all played in different bands before joining forces. There’s also some great musical heritage to their story as James’s dad used to be in The Hollies. Jojo is also an actor and is about to launch a big drama series on Netflix which stars Gillian Anderson called “Sec Education”.
Koates will play a sold out headline show at The Lexington, London on November 16th. The Right Place is available via all digital retailers as of now.
