LA-based Kills Birds share their latest single, Rabbit. The track is the band’s first to be taken from their upcoming, second album, Married, which is set to be released on November 12th via their new label homes at Royal Mountain Records and KRO Records.

Rabbit is an intense burst of energy lasting under two minutes, it’s a brutal account of an abusive relationship that struggles with power as it fluctuates between quiet and loud dynamic. Recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 after being invited by the man himself, Rabbit is a cathartic balance between the beautiful and devastating.

Speaking about the track, lead singer Nina Ljeti states

“Rabbit” is about the experience of being in an abusive relationship with a powerful person. To be with someone who was praised by the public, but hurt you in private really eviscerates your self worth. Like many people who share this experience, this particular relationship defined the majority of my young adulthood, and I’m still dealing with the emotional consequences of it.

The release of Married follows on from the band’s self-titled debut in 2019, which saw them gain fans in the likes of Dave Grohl and Kim Gordon. After recently going on tour with Hot Snakes, the band are set to go on a nationwide, US tour supporting Sleigh Bells in October.

Kills Birds’ new album Married is out on November 12th via Royal Mountain Records and KRO Records.
