The 1975 have just dropped their brand new single Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America. The new track is the fifth to be revealed from the band’s fourth album, Notes On A Conditional Form and features singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers on vocals. Listen below.

The duet between Matt Healy and Phoebe Bridgers is about young people in the USA in the early 2000s forced to hide their homosexuality. “I’m in love with a boy I know, But that’s a feeling I can never show” Healy sings while Bridgers adds “I’m in love with the girl next door / Her name’s Claire / Nice when she comes ’round to call / Then masturbate the second she’s not there”.
