Ten years have passed since the release of their debut album, New Brigade, Copenhagen’s Iceage have returned with their new release, The Holding Hand, their debut release for new label, Mexican Summer. Listen below.

Throughout The Holding Hand, romance and desire are feelings that stretch agonizingly, feeling like a race without a finish line. Vocalist Elias Bender Rønnenfelt’s voice creeps over suspenseful percussion and glistening wind chimes, the fiery guitar and the sharp violin layer in, creating its loud peak.

Speaking about the track, Rønnenfelt states

The song lives in a slurred world, movements are elastically stretched out and strength is found in weaknesses while you find it hard to tell the difference between fume and matter. Gently the swaying intensifies. Reach out for the holding hand, it seems almost within scope now.

The song’s video was created by director Anders Malmberg, capturing dramatic portraits of Iceage: Elias Bender Rønnenfelt, Jakob Tvilling Pless, Johan Surrballe Wieth, Dan Kjær Nielson and new member, Casper Morilla Fernandez.

The Holding Hand is available digitally as of now.
