01. Vinyl Staircase – Sidewalk!
Dorking four piece Vinyl Staircase have been taking some time out of touring to record their new single Sidewalk! in their own homes. Inspired by the likes of Ty Segall and Talking Heads, the new single has been a live favourite for a long time and is no finally available to stream and download.
‘Sidewalk!’ explores the paranoia that can occur while walking around at night listening to music, also referring to larger worldly anxiety. Simultaneously it’s largely a non-sensical and erratic journey, reflecting the instrumental strangeness of the song.”
02. Skip Curtis – Push & Shove
Genre: singer-songwriter, from: UK, for fans of: Jeff Buckley, The Paper Kites, Ben Howard
Welsh singer-songwriter Skip Curtis is mainly known for his production work for the likes of Estrons or Boy Azooga. His new single Push & Shove deals with a breakup and set in a drawer for about 10 years until he decided to record and release it to the public.
The first version of this song was catharsis after a break-up. I wasn’t an artist then, didn’t release any of my own material and the song felt too personal to give to another artist to use so it just sat there in one of my songbooks for almost a decade.
03. Moses – Joy
Indie rockers Moses have made themselves a name supporting the likes of The Heavy and Feeder and appearing at Reading/Leeds, Download and Kendal Calling among others. Their latest single Joy sees them return to full power after a brief hiatus in 2018. A proper brit pop banger, so turn it up loud!
04. The Honest Heart Collective – Fine
Ontario based The Honest Heart Collective was founded by brothers brothers Ryan and Nic MacDonald after a Bruce Springsteen concert. It is no surprise then, that their music has a lot on common with the boss’. New single Fine is taken from their forthcoming new album.
We’ve come to find that in modern English, the word “fine” has two meanings. For example, You can say you’re fine while simultaneously being the opposite of that.
05. John O’Shea – Rock Is Alive
London’s John O’Shea is a man with a mission. Influenced by the likes of Oasis, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles he wants to conquer the world. With his new single Rock Is Alive he is off to a pretty good start.
I was born and raised in an area that has more Rock & Roll history than anywhere else in the UK and I am the continuation of that history… when I was growing up every band wanted to take over the world. That’s what I want to do, and I’m not going to apologise for that
