Dublin post-punks Fontaines D.C. announce their third album, Skinty Fia, set to be released Friday April 22nd 2022. Partnering the announcement, the band have also shared the album’s lead single, Jackie Down The Line – with its accompanying music video, directed by Hugh Mulhern. Watch and listen below.

Skinty Fia is an Irish phase, translating to the ‘damnation of the deer’, with the album’s artwork featuring an Irish deer, taken from its natural habitat and thrown into the unknown of a new home, then illuminated by a red glow. The Irish deer, now extinct, alongside the band’s thoughts on Irish identity are spotlighted within Skinty Fia. The album sees Fontaines D.C. address their Irish blood from afar as they rebuild their lives relocated in North London.

More cinematic and expansive than their previous 2 albums, Skinty Fia sees Fontaines D.C. attempt to resolve their desire to broaden their horizons whilst still feeling huge amounts of adoration for the place and the people that they have left behind. A band constantly evolving, Fontaines D.C. show immense maturity throughout Skinty Fia.

Alongside the album announcement, the band have also announced that they’ll be heading out on a US tour, starting this April, tickets are on sale this Friday at 10am local time.

Skinty Fia is available on digital and limited edition physical formats*.
