With roots from France, Venezuela and New Zealand, Calva Louise formed back in 2016. Since then, the band have sold out a huge number of headline shows and have supported the likes of The Blinders, Razorlight and Highly Suspect. Finally, Calva Louise return with new music, in the form of the Popurrí EP.

Opening track Camino takes the band to new levels, seeing them return with the punk sound that fans know and love, but really making it their own. With Camino, Calva Louise celebrate imperfections and it reminds the listener that every single one of us face challenging times. Camino sees them make a thrilling and exciting return.

I Wish is a complete banger, catchy, ball of energy which is destined to sound even better live. The vocals and melody here are infectious with instrumentation that leads to us dreaming of mosh pits. I Wish is the trio’s most electrifying track yet.

The EP closes with single, Pop(urri), written about the problems that the band used to have in explaining their identity, Pop(urri) is about accepting that each member has a different identity. With lyrics in both Spanish and English, this track is where Calva Louise really excel, letting their diversity really shine through.

It feels as if Calva Louise have found themselves with Popurrí, each track is stunning in its own right. The EP will leave fans (im)patiently waiting for the return of live music, as this is where this EP will truly come to life.
