Today sees Pennine punks Cabbage return with the announcement of the long-awaited second album, Amanita Pantherina out September 25th, paired with the release of their latest single, Get Outta My Brain, a homage to Shaun Ryder and Black Grape, and the affirmation of life in the city of Manchester.

Speaking of the single, co-frontman Lee Broadbent states

The title of the track has two meanings, it’s all about how the balance of the two meanings fight each other – some people want to run away, where other people intoxicate themselves to run away, it’s an attempt to channel the spirit of Manchester.

Amanita Pantherina is the first album recorded and produced entirely by Cabbage themselves, in their studio, Brassica Studios. The band have been supercharged by the injustices they’ve seen in the world around them, Amanita Pantherina sees Cabbage tackle issues such as Brexit and social injustice. With this album, the band aim to remain a prominent and vital voice in the times in which we live.

Since forming in 2014, Cabbage have promoted progressive politics and have supported charitable causes through their live shows. On top of headlining multiple sell out tours, the band have played at Edgeley Park alongside Blossoms, and launched their debut album with a specially curated exhibition at the Manchester Art Gallery.

The band are also in the middle of making plans for their live return.
