Today has seen New York based Breanna Barbara share her latest single, arriving in the form of Landslide. The track is the second single to be taken from her upcoming, second album, Nothin’ But Time, which is set for release on November 11th via Fuzzclub. The release of Landslide follows on from last month’s Diamond Light, which received critical acclaim.

Reasserting her unique, forceful vocals and strong songwriting skills, Landslide allows Barbara to take a close look at the ways that fate affects the way we live our lives, and the complications that can come with taking the wheel yourself.

Speaking of the track, Breanna states:

Landslide’ is about trusting your intuition and how you can sort of fall off of listening to it at times. I envision when you are in tune with your intuition as sitting at the top of a landslide with the nighttime sky and stars, being close to some sort of God or the truest version of yourself, versus when you do fall off from that closeness it can often feel like you’re lost, but you can see yourself trying to find your way through and walking away from things that you know aren’t right for you. I think ‘it’ in the song is referring to your fate & what is meant for you.

The single arrives paired with its accompanying music video, directed by Fatos Marishta. Inspired by a dream once had by Breanna Barbara – the video features four different characters (which can be interpreted as different versions of just one), running wild around New York City, trying to find, keep, and even kill, hidden truths about themselves.

The release of Nothin’ But Time follows on from Breanna Barbara’s 2016 debut, Mirage Dreams, 3 critically acclaimed singles, and numerous collaborations with legendary trip-hop vanguard, Tricky. The album is both raw, and immersive, allowing Breanna Barbara to guide listeners to psychedelic rock and blues.
