Ahead of its January 17th release, Bombay Bicycle Club reveal another new single from their forthcoming fifth album Everything Else Has Gone Wrong. The new single is titled Racing Stripes and comes with a video shot on the Lofoten archipelago in Norway. Watch and listen below.

Racing Stripes marked a breakthrough for the band because frontman Jack Steadman came up with it after suffering from writer’s block. He commented on the track:

It’s a good example of the emotional rollercoaster you go through. I was like, this is it, I can’t do this any more, and then the next morning you’re like, ah, this is a really good song. The relief!

Guitarist Jamie MacColl added:

Racing Stripes is the first song we’ve done where I feel you could have a lighter in the air and sing along to it.

The line “This light will keep me going” in the chorus pretty much sums up not only the song but also the year that lies ahead for the four piece.

Everything Else Has Gone Wrong is the follow up to the band’s number 1 album So Long, See You Tomorrow which was released in 2014. The new record is available on limited edition physical formats via the official store as well as all major digital outlets.

After a run of intimate album launch shows in January 2020, the band will embark on a massive tour of the UK and Europe including a date at the Alexandra Palace in London. Support for the UK dates comes from The Big Moon and Liz Lawrence. All dates and ticket links are available below.
