bloc party silent alarm anniversary tour 2018

Bloc Party have just announced via their socials that they will embark on a headline tour this October. On six select dates across Europe and the UK, the band will play their 2005 debut album Silent Alarm in full. All dates and tickets can be found below.

This is the first news of Bloc Party since the release of standalone single Stunt Queen back in 2016. The band’s fifth studio album, Hymns, was released in January 2016 and was met with mixed reviews. Meanwhile, frontman Kele Okereke is on a solo tour in support of his new album Fatherland.

Silent Alarm was released to critical acclaim in 2005 and spawned Bloc Party classics such as Banquet, Helicopter and This Modern Love. After the departure of drummer Matt Tong and Gorden Moakes, the band now consist of founding members Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack as well as Justin Harris (bass) and Louise Bartle (drums).

The band will play the album in full including other material. New music has not yet been announced. The tour will kick off in Amsterdam and culminate at Alexandra Palace in London. Tickets for all dates will go on sale Friday, March 23rd from 9 AM GMT. All dates and ticket links can be found below.
