Following on from their critically acclaimed third album So That You Might Hear Me, London’s Bear’s Den have just announced a new EP titled Only Son of the Falling Snow, set for release on December 4th via Communion Records. The band have also shared the title track which is available to stream below.

The band comment on the new EP:

We wanted to make an EP that felt intimate, nostalgic and felt united by the theme of Winter. It was a chance between albums for us to work on and explore something more musically sparse and lyrically reflective… The EP is a collection of songs united by a sense of what Winter means to us. In all its beauty, sadness, stillness and its ability to transform and bring things back to life.

The three-track EP will also include new songs The Star of Bethnal Green and Longhope and was recorded with longtime friend, collaborator, and producer Ian Grimble.

2019 has been a busy year for the band. So That You Might Hear MeĀ debuted on #13 in the UK charts and saw them play sold out shows across Europe and the UK. Over the summer, they joined Neil Young & The Promise Of The Real on some of their European dates.

Coinciding with news of the EP, Andrew Davie and Kevin Jones will embark on a UK headline beginning on November 3rd in Oxford. The UK tour will be followed by a run of mainland dates. Dates and ticket links can be found below. In September, Andrew and Kevin also launched the second part of their podcast series, also titled So That You Might Hear Me. The podcast is available via all streaming services.

Only Son of the Falling Snow will be released on December 4th on digital and physical formats.
