2016 in Review

Suffice to say that 2016 wasn’t exactly a great year for music. The year started off awfully with David Bowie’s death and the fatal accident of Warrington group Viola Beach and continued to be a pain when Prince died.

As if that weren’t enough, many hugely anticipated releases failed to deliver (for instance Bloc Party’s Hymns or Two Door Cinema Club’s Gameshow). On top of all that, The Maccabees split and Coldplay won the BBC British Artist Of The Year Award.

Despite all that, 2016 saw some fantastic releases from The Last Shadow Puppets, DMA’s and Daughter among others. Check out our best and worst of below.
