Francobollo 2016

Francobollo are a four piece from Sweden, now based in London, who have just dropped their new single Kinky Lola. The track was produced by Charlie Andrew (Alt-J, Money, Benjamin Francis Leftwich) – and will be the first release on his new label Square Leg Records.

The new video released today depicts the story of a slightly unorthodox life-drawing class. Everything seems as it should be, until the subject begins to undress, revealing something rather unexpected.

Francobollo’s sound is as weird and wonderful as their band name suggests, with wobbly guitars, intricate rhythms and Simon Nilsson’s strained vocals.

Simon comments on the single:

Lyrically, Kinky Lola is about missing the honesty and the straight-forward attitude about a lot of music we grew up with.

Francobollo met at school in Lund, Sweden, having played and recorded as session musicians for bands such as Slow Club, LA Salami and members of Mystery Jets. Cutting their teeth in North London warehouse parties, the band are equally at home in intimate holes as they are on big festival stages.

An EP is set to follow later this year with a debut album slated for release in 2017 (also produced by Charlie Andrew).
